KISSIMMEE, Fla. — In the week since Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was sworn in as president on Jan. 1, former president Jair Bolsonaro has been living at a modest, two-story home in an Orlando suburb near Disney World.
Over the weekend, he greeted hundreds of supporters who had gathered outside the residence. At one point Saturday morning, Bolsonaro spent nearly an hour signing autographs and standing for photographs with his supporters.
He has a wide following in Florida, where many expatriate Brazilians voted for him in last year’s election — and where ally Donald Trump has also become a resident after losing the 2020 presidential election.
